Alberta Spruce Juniper Bonsai Trees

If you have been looking to introduce a friend to the wonderful pastime known as bonsai, you can’t go wrong starting them off with this wonderful planting of four trees to make an Alberta Spruce Forest .  They’re planting in a low profile, naturally finished bonsai pot that also includes carefully placed rocks, ferns and some moss to create a wonderful forest feel.  And it’s no wonder that it looks so good since this planting is almost 18 years old.

The Alberta Spruce, also known as the White Spruce was first discovered (for ornamental purposes) in 1904 near Lake Laggan in the Canadian Rockies.  This is a bonsai that must be grown outdoors and so if a good friend or perhaps your lucky spouse is a gardener already, you have the makings of a perfect garden gift idea.  You can’t ever go wrong giving a gardener an unusual plant.  This is a unique gift and you won’t find another exactly like it – or probably even close, no matter how hard you might look.

Overall this wonderful outdoor bonsai planting is 22 inches wide and on average 14 inches deep and the tallest tree in the group is 28 inches high.
