Go Green with a Garden Greenhouse
posted in Family |As a family, we got together several years ago to write out a list of things we could do to go green and help our environment. The main criterion was it had to be cost effective and stay within our family budget. We did all the obvious things first; changed to florescent bulbs, checked the temperature on the hot water heater and made some repairs and simple improvements to weatherize our home. Once we did all the little things we could think of, one of our children came to me with the idea of purchasing a garden greenhouse, which I thought at the time was a little extravagant. However, we looked into it and were sold.
We chose a greenhouse from a selection of home greenhouses at Bevoworks.com and have had great experience learning as a family what growing your own food year round can do. All my fears of setup and installation were quickly put to rest as we had our backyard greenhouse up and ready for plants in a day. We chose one that was complete and purchased a few accessories that we thought we would eventually need. As we have tracked the budget, we have found that this investment has really paid off overall and has become one of our favorite ways of going green.
