Time management techniques

Procrastination consumes time.  It takes more time to dread something than it takes to actually do the task.  Yet we sit there playing computer games and trying not to think of the minutes and hours passing and the deadline that is looming.  Or the list of other things that can’t get done until that one task gets done.

Getting started is the key.  Tell yourself you are going to get the job started and work on it for a short period of time and quit when that time is up.  If you can get yourself going in this way, you will find that you procrastinate less often.  Life in general becomes a lot more pleasant when necessary tasks get done in a timely manner—it’s lots less stressful.
